The theatrical company is arriving from Greece and will perform in Modern Greek with English supertitles. The play is directed by the innovative Director Leonidas Loizides under the auspices of the Greek Ministries of Culture, Tourism, and Foreign Affairs. “BACCHAE” has been translated from Ancient to Modern Greek by Professor Marika Thomadakis.   The award winning epic composer Demetrios Katis, winner of Best Classical at the 2007 “Los Angeles Music Awards”, composed the Byzantine-style music of the play.  The award-winning designer Despina Volidi designed the angelic and godly-style costumes. The innovative use of women in all roles by Director Loizides is a tribute to the role of women in society from the ancient days to the present.
